Athletes and coaches have known the truth about hard work and pain for a
long time. However, with a recent discovery highlighted here (http://www.runnersworld.com/sports-psychology/study-considering-pain-good-makes-it-more-tolerable)
adds scientific weight behind the importance of having the right
attitude during tough/painful training. I have for a long time told my
athletes to welcome soreness and not to shy away from it! Understanding
the new discovery about pain it is important to get your kids to accept
pain sometimes associated with tough work.
I hated every minute of training, but I said, 'Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.'
